Wallace Carl Riddick (1864-1942). Professor of engineering (1892-1916), Head of Civil Engineering Department (1895-1908), Vice President of the College (1908-1916), President of North Carolina State University (1916-1923), first Dean and organizer of the Engineering School (1923-1937), and a professor of Hydraulics after his 1937 retirement.
